I worked as a Lead Environment Artist on Skyway Stadium for THE FINALS. My main responsibilty was leading the maps team to delivering a fun and visually striking player experience. This included planning, blockouts, creating assets, textures, materials, optimazation and working close to all the other departments. Skyway Stadium was the first map where we introduced what we call a "Stadium Map" that is a not inspired by a specifc location, but instead combining elements and present them in different "dioramas". This allowed us to be more creative and flexible when it came to gameplay flow and navigation. The contrast from playing on top of a skyscraper to being on street level surrounded by smaller houses was something that very appealing for us, both visually and from a gameplay perspective. Making dynamic destructible environments for games is really challenging, both from a tecnical and gameplay point of view. That said I must say I'm really proud of what we managed to deliver, staying true to the core pillars and creative direction of THE FINALS.
