THE FINALS - BERNAL

I worked as a Lead Environment Artist on the Bernal map for THE FINALS. My main responsibilty was leading the maps team to delivering a fun and visually striking player experience. This included planning, blockouts, creating assets, textures, materials, optimazation and working close to all the other departments. This map was built for the Season 5 of THE FINALS. We wanted to create an experience where we captured the historical culture of Mexico. We managed to find a small village in the middle of Mexico right next to one of the biggest monolith in the world called "Peña de Bernal". A few of us traveled there to gather references and scan material and assets. This place was magical and we were really inspired coming back to Stockholm to start working on the map. We wanted to stay true to the Mexican aesthetics as much as possible, at the same time having to match all the requirements needed for THE FINALS with destruction ,various bodytypes and gameplay styles.
