I worked as a Lead Environment Artist on the NOZOMI/CITADEL map for THE FINALS. My main responsibilty was leading the maps team to delivering a fun and visually striking player experience. This included planning, blockouts, creating assets, textures, materials, optimazation and working close to all the other departments. This map was released during our Season 7 called The Divide. We wanted to create a clash between one of the sponsors in the game called "VAIIYA" and the game shows hacker group called "CNS". The map in split in the middle with a rift where one side is owned by CNS and the other by VAIIYA. This allowed us to create different visual expression depending on where you are in the map, not just with architecture, but also with sound, lighting and effects. The CNS side is colorful, bold, glitched and inviting vs the VAIIYA side that are sterile, brutalistic, raw and minimalist which represents what each sponsors stands for. Even though we had a short amount of time working on this map I'm really proud on what we managed to deliver.
