I worked as a World Director on the Fangwai City map for THE FINALS. My main responsibilty was leading the maps team to delivering a fun and visually striking player experience. This included planning, blockouts, creating assets, textures, materials, optimazation and working close to all the other departments. This map was built for Season 9 of THE FINALS called Dragon Rising. We wanted to create an experience where we capture the Chinese megacities where you can find old historical buildings right next to modern skyscrapers. Our main insperations are a mix from Hong Kong, Shanghai and Chongqing. One theme we really liked from these cities where traditional chinese garders that often was right in the middle of the city. Because of the tropical climate you could see how nature almost had been taking over the city and growing on top of a lot of structures. I was working close to our vegetation artist Robert Berg on nailing this theme and to get it in performance with a lot of assets and destruction.
